This year's Read a Book in One Sitting Day is now over (unless you're one of the people who has rescheduled the holiday to a more logistically convenient date), which means it's time for the annual wrap-up post.

This year, I used the manga substitution rule for the first time and read all eight volumes of Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai by Yazawa Ai. It was super endearing, but took much more time to read than I initially predicted! I had this idea in my head that I could breeze through a whole manga series in a morning because it's mostly pictures, but in practice my reading speed averaged out to about 200 pages an hour if I was really focused, so between the actual reading and the breaks I took it was a good 10-12 hours until I actually finished.
